In 2021 the Institute received a new expert-grade MRI machine, enabling a wide range of high-quality examinations that meet all modern standards.
✓ Modern, expert-grade MRI machine Magnetom Amira 1.5T from Siemens
✓ We use research protocols that comply with all modern international quality standards, including expert research protocols for patients with oncological and neurological diseases
✓ The examination is safe. MRI does not involve radiation
✓ Our equipment allows us to obtain the best quality of examination in patients with metal structures in the body
✓ The report can be obtained on the day of the examination or by email.
MRI is a non-invasive diagnostic method for imaging internal organs without the use of X-rays. An MRI scanner produces images based on the magnetic fields generated by the human body. MRI "sees" soft tissues (muscles, nerves, brain, intervertebral discs, ligaments, etc.). In many cases, only MRI can provide the diagnostic images needed to determine treatment options
The patient is placed in a magnetic field, then an additional electromagnetic signal is transmitted. Hydrogen atoms, which have the same frequency as the signal generate their own signal, which is detected by the device. Different types of tissue (bone, muscle, blood vessels, etc.) have different numbers of hydrogen atoms and therefore generate signals with different characteristics. The tomograph recognizes these signals, deciphers them, and creates an image
There is no harm to health in MRI examination
If necessary, the study is performed with the intravenous administration of a special contrast agent, which allows to obtain additional valuable diagnostic information
If the referral for the examination does not indicate the administration of a contrast agent, the decision on the need to use intravenous contrast is made by the radiologist in the MRI room during the examination
In patients with installed metal structures, image quality may be improved due to the availability of the option to suppress artifacts from metal structures
We also perform research on children aged 7 years and older
When visiting the MRI room the patient will be required to remove all metal objects, leave their phone and other gadgets in a specially designated place, and lie down on a special tomograph table
The patient experiences no discomfort during the procedure. The only major restrictions are maintaining stillness. Patients should try to breathe calmly and remain still
During the examination, the device produces a loud noise; for the patient's comfort, special headphones will be provided.
