The Department has been operational since 2023 with staff working in the operating room, providing anesthesia for all pediatric surgeries. They also provide procedural sedation (CT scans, bronchoscopy, and gastroscopy) for children treated at our facility and from other city institutions.
The Department includes a preoperative ward where children are admitted with their parents prior to surgery. Here, the child establishes contact with the anesthesia team and receives premedication. The ward provides a favorable psychological environment: the child stays with their parent, can play with toys, and, if necessary, the anesthesiologist provides sedative sleep for the child while the parent remains with the child before being transported to the operating room.

After the surgery, the child is transferred to the intensive care unit. The unit is equipped with modern equipment and monitoring systems. Depending on the type of surgery, the child may be transferred to a ward after observation or receive intensive care in the intensive care unit. We use only high-quality, disposable medical materials.
All of the Department's staff have extensive experience working with children. We utilize the most modern pain management techniques during the postoperative period and practice early initiation of enteral feeding. Our Department operates on the "open intensive care" principle, meaning that the young patient's parents are active participants in the treatment process. In the intensive care unit, our staff utilizes play-based techniques with children, including listening to music, cartoons, and art therapy.
Our staff is always ready to help, even when a child is transferred to the surgical department. All staff members are constantly improving their skills and learning new ones.
